The new generation of plastic manholes offer modern and ecological solutions that satisfy all the requirements regarding wastewater evacuation.

As the largest PVC-U processor in Romania, Teraplast produces a wide range of unplasticized PVC pipes for gravity buried sewage systems, subject to normal charges or to special work charges.
Maximum temperatures of wastewater carried through PVC-U systems are: 60 ° C – for pipes with D 110 – 200 mm and 40 ° C for pipes with D 250 – 500 mm. Temperatures of 60 ° C are also allowed for short periods of time. The recommended slope range is between 4 – 500/00.
PVC-U pipes and fittings are produced by extrusion, respectively by injection of a mixture of PVC and carbonate, respectively unplasticized hard PVC granules in combination with dyes, fillers, stabilizers and friction additions.
Tightness is provided with gaskets made of long-lasting synthetic rubber, which are mounted in the profiled element of the pipe socket. Tightness remains assured even if the pipe is deformed within its permissible limits or movements.
TeraPlast is the first Romanian company that has produced this type of pipe (multilayer) since 2004, using a revolutionary co-extrusion technology at that time. The main feature of the multilayer PVC-U pipes is the wall structure that consists of 3 PVC-U independent layers, thus:
A compact interior layer in compact PVC,
The core, made out of expanded PVC,
An exterior layer in compact PVC.
This results in a PVC-U pipe with mechanical properties similar to those of pipes made with a compact wall, but with a lower specific weight and, implicitly, with a lower cost.
Teraplast produces PVC-U multilayer pipes for exterior buried gravity sewage in accordance with SR EN13476-1, 2 and SF36/2017 standards. The range of diameters is between 110mm and 500mm with ring rigidity SN2 (SDR51), SN4 (SDR41), SN8 (SDR34) and SN12 (SDR30).
The colour is orange RAL8023.
The products are used for gravity household and industrial wastewater sewage outside the building, buried, with depth between 0.8 m and 6 m.
SN2 – in areas without street traffic,
SN4 – street with average traffic load,
SN8, SN12 – medium or heavy load traffic.
The system is completed with a wide range of PVC-U fittings injected in the same dimension range as the PVC-U pipes. Teraplast offers PVC-U fittings both in the SN4 stiffness class and in the SN8 stiffness class. For stiffness class SN2 are used fittings of rigidity class SN4. The physical properties tested on multilayer pipes include also ring flexibility. The test consists in the deformation of up to 30% of the diameter of a pipe sample, and the requirement is that the pipe doesn’t break and returns to its original shape after the removal of the pushing force.
Besides the multilayer PVC-U pipes, TeraPlast also produces PVC-U pipes in the compact wall version. Obviously, in this case the wall structure is no longer of a multilayer type but is a compact structure in PVC-U.
The mechanical properties of this type of pipe are the same as for multilayer pipes but the specific weight is higher. Teraplast produces this type of compact wall PVC-U pipe for exterior buried gravity sewage in accordance with SR EN1401-1 standard.
The range of diameters is similar to that produced for multilayer pipes, respectively between 110mm and 500mm with ring rigidity SN4 (SDR41), SN8 (SDR34).

PVC pipes are part of the flexible pipes category. This feature gives PVC-U pipes (unplasticized PVC) a special mechanical strength, which can transfer to the soil around them a large part of the charge exercised on them. In case of overloading, the PVC-U pipes react with a reversible deformation that does not affect their functionality, in case of suitable installation.
TBoth PVC-U pipes and fittings have a high chemical resistance to most aqueous solutions, the aggressive action of soil materials, salts and caustic substances or aqueous acidic solutions. Thus, PVC-U pipes and fittings can be used to transport basic or acidic aqueous solutions, mineral salts, etc., with a pH between 2 and 12 and working temperatures of max. 60 ° C.
The outstanding hydraulic features of the PVC-U pipe system and fittings are determined by the ability to produce interior walls with an extremely reduced russeting.
The low weight of the PVC-U pipe system components and fittings ensures an extremely high manoeuvrability in terms of transport, storage and handling, as well as installation. Also, the existence of gaskets ensures an easy and tight joint of the components, ensuring a high mounting speed. For a high mounting speed, it is recommended to lubricate the gasket and the end of the pipe that will be socketed.
The PVC-U system area of use is diversified covering both buried sewage networks for wastewater and rainwater applicable in infrastructure and residential buildings, water evacuation in agriculture and industry or for drainage.

The system is made out of corrugated PE pipes and fittings. The pipes are made through co-extrusion, in accordance with the SR EN13476-3:2007 standard, resulting a pipe with a smooth light colour interior wall that facilities video inspection, with an extremely reduced roughness and a profiled type exterior wall.
