| IV. 2. PE compression fittings : |
Types: |
mechanical tightning (compression), for range of Ø 20-110 mm diameters; |
Applications : |
for PE networks to supply and distribution fresh water |
Whole range: |
couplings, tee pieces, elbows, muffs, clamp saddle |
Technic characteristics: |
components: |
body and clamp of the coupling, from PP; |
| |
pressure ring, from poly-acetate; |
| |
tightness ring , from nitrilic rubber |
| |
| |
the temperature to be used is |
from -20°C la +80°C |
| |
| |
maxim admitted pressures at 20ºC: |
for diameters <63 mm = 16 bar |
| |
lfor diameters 75-125 mm = 10 bar |

Mounting of mechanical tightening fittings: |
the conduct is perpendicularly cut. |
| |
the penetration depth is marked. |
| |
the fitting screw-nut is then partially unscrewed, about ¾ oft the thread's length. |
| |
the conduct is inserted into the fitting, after the conduct passed the inner dogging ring, the push is continued
over the sealing gasket to the maximum insertion depth specified on the conduct; |
| |
the screw-nut is firmly tight on the fitting body; |
| |
the final tightening of the screw-nut is made manually up to 32 mm of diameter, and from 40 mm up the tightening is made mechanically, using a wrench. |
