II. 2. Compressing and jewel setting fittings for multilayer pipes Pex-Al type

Types:

		jewel setting fittings
		brass compresion fittings
		PPSU compression fittings - it’s a new fitting range, designed to reach the highest safety in junction with multilayer pipes under walls and free.

The main features of the safety system are:
enlargement of the pipe head (coupling process) realized through a special device. This process allows to put the fitting on the pipe in a simply and quick way and by the highest safety the pipe is put and locked on the fitting by a anti-unscrewing cap avoiding any movement and, by necessity, which can be unlocked and used again. The safety system is available in two versions: body, male
and female threads in PPSU, body and threads in brass alloy and PPSU caps

Advantages of PPSU fittings:

		total safety in joining pipe to fitting under wall and outside
		high resistance against impacts
		higher flowing and less pressure drop
		quick and easy mounting
		possibility to unlock the fittings and to use them again
		resistant to sedimentations and electro-chemical aggression
		complete compatibility to cold and warm drinking fluids
		less processing rejection thanks to the reutilization of the fitting

Mounting instructions:

The pipe is cut with a special long blade (or rotating roll) which allows a perpendicular cut on pipe's axis;

The pipe is chamfered for obtaining a burrless surface;

The pipe's interior is calibrated with a special device.

Bras compression fittings:

		the screw-nut and the tightening ring are introduced in the pipe.
		The conic section of the ring must be turned towards the screw-nut.
		The pipe edge and the ring must be greased with silicon-teflon paste.
		The ring is fixed on the pipe and the screw-nut is manually screwed until the pipe presses the teflon ring,
		and afterwards the final tightening with a proper fixed wrench is made.

PPSU compression fittings

		settle the device and screw the crown of right diameter.
		Put the plastic expander on the extractor (its flange should be put towards the machine.
		Cut the pipe carefully.
		Insert the PPSU cap and push the pipe till the end of the stroke of the plastic expander (single use).
		Work on the lever till the coupling is done (the pipe will be automatically set free).
		Before inserting the safety fitting into the pipe, slightly lubricate the thread.
		Lock the cap through the special wrench till the anti-unscrewing notch.

Jewel setting fittings

		the sealing gaskets of the fitting are greased with silicon paste.
		The tightening mechanical sleeve enters the pipe, and afterwards the fitting is introduced in the pipe until the pipe presses the teflon ring.
		Finally, the jewel setting device is positioned perpendicularly on the pipe, the jaws on the mechanical sleeve pressing it to the maximum.
